Key features of the 07E course:
• Classroom and practical instruction in handgun handling and safety (loading, unloading, draw, rebolstering, range safety).
• Fundamentals of marksmanship, including grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control.
• Low-light/dim-light familiarization practice.
• Instruction on use of force, criminal and civil liability, and firearm retention.
• Judgmental shooting scenarios and safety discussions.
• Written examination required for successful complete the course .
This is not for guard seeking to be certified as armed security officers they w I understand have to complete 075e course.

    The 06E Special Conservator of the Peace (SCOP) course is a 24-hour entry-level training program mandated by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). This course is designed for individuals seeking registration as private security professionals granted limited law enforcement authority under the Code of Virginia.
    Course Content Includes:
    1. Virginia Law and Regulations
     Participants receive detailed instruction on:
    Applicable sections of the Code of Virginia governing SCOP authority
    Training and registration requirements
    Limitations, responsibilities, and administrative sanctions
    2. Duties and Responsibilities
    Training covers:
    Scope of authority
    Professional standards of conduct
    Roles and expectations for SCOPs in various operational environments
    3. Legal Procedures and Due Process
    Students receive in-depth instruction in:
    Constitutional law
    Criminal and civil law
    Probable cause
    Arrest procedures
    Search and seizure requirements
