  06E Special Conservator of the Peace (SCOP)

  The 06E Special Conservator of the Peace (SCOP) course is a 24-hour entry-level training program mandated by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS).   The course is structured into three days of classroom instruction followed by a fourth day dedicated entirely to hands-on practical exercises, including:

  Safe extraction of individuals from vehicles

  Officer safety and communication techniques

  Optional Firearms Training

  This is a 3 night class.

  Rifle handling techniques, Fundamentals of rifle marksmanship, Zeroing iron sights, Dim light shooting, Shooting positions, Use of force, and Criminal and civil liability.

  Be a minimum of 18 years old or accompanied by a legal guardian and a United States Citizen or legal resident alien of the United States

  075E Armed Entry Level Security Officer Handgun

  This is a 3 day (24 Hour) class.

  Firearm Care and Maintenance. Civil/Criminal Liability, Firearm Retention and Storage, Deadly Force, Range Safety, Principles of Marksmanship, Firearms Handling and Safety, Judgmental Shooting, Loading Techniques, Malfunctions, Tactical Considerations, Multiple Targets, Ammunition, Low Light Shooting Familiarization.
